MARIAN SHRINE AT WOODFORD

The Marian Shrine at Woodford in Galway is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and was erected in 1954 as part of the Marian Year celebrations declared by Pope Pius XII.

The shrine consists of a white marble statue of Mary standing on a pedestal. The statue is well carved and shows Mary holding her hands in prayer.  The Marian Shrine at Woodford is a symbol of faith, connecting the devotion to Mary with the heritage of the Catholic community. 

It is a place where people can pray and reflect. It is also a place where people can admire the artistic beauty and craftsmanship of the statue and shrine.
