SPIDDAL BEACH / TRÁ NA MBÁN

If you are looking for a scenic and relaxing beach getaway in Galway, you might want to consider visiting Spiddal Beach or Trá na mBán (Ladies’ Strand) as it’s otherwise known in Spiddal (An Spidéal). Spiddal Beach / Trá na mBán is a sandy beach with some rocky patches and a gentle slope into the water. It is suitable for swimming at low tide, but be aware of the strong currents and waves at high tide. The beach has several facilities for visitors, such as free car parking, lifeguards (during the summer months), wheelchair access and picnic benches. Toilets can be found in the nearby craft village or petrol station. There is also a playground nearby for children and a pier for fishing.
