Lackagh Castle was a five storey tower house built by the De Burgo (Burke) family in the 14th century. The castle was also held by Henry FitzEdmond, a branch of the Burke family.
The castle now lies in ruins but some architectural features such as a spiral staircase and a series of small rooms can still be seen.
