Clonbrock Castle is a restored 15th century tower house which was a stronghold of the O’Kelly family. The castle was believed to have been built by Tadhg O’Kelly in 1475.

In the late 16th century, the castle was acquired from the O’Kelly family by Thomas Dillon, ‘Chief Justice of Connacht’ for Elizabeth I. The Dillon family, an Anglo-Norman family, lived on the estate for some 400 years thereafter. Other features around the castle grounds include turrets and a walled garden.
