Experience the beauty of the Joyce Country of Connemara at the walking festival, Féile na Sléibthe taking place from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th August 2022.

Féile na Sléibhte is a walking and hiking festival with something to appeal to all skill levels, from a casual weekend walker and hiker, to those who enjoy more of a challenge. The festival brings together the best of Joyce County for you to enjoy at a walking pace. Over the course of the weekend, not only will you enjoy the beautiful Joyce Country views and all it has to offer, but you will also have the chance to enjoy traditional music in the warmth of the lovely local traditional pubs with delicious food on offer, and of course a great pint to quench the thirst.

A Walk Siúlóid Mhám Toirc / Maumturks
Saturday 27th Aug, 9:00 am
– Meeting Point: Carpark, Community Centre, Maam
– Route: Corgogemore to Pás Mám Éan via Mullach Glass and Binn Mhór
– Grade: Strenuous – 15km, 957m Ascent, 5 – 6 + hours
– Category: Experienced hiker
– Requires: hillwalking boots, full set of rain gear, rucksack, lunch and extra personal clothing

B Walk Siúlóid Binn Shleibhe / Mount Gable
Saturday 27th Aug, 12:00 pm
– Meeting Point: Cornamona Church car park
– Route: Summit – Eastern Cairn – Shean Bhothar via Bronze Age Site
– Grade: Moderate – 8km, 338m Ascent, 3.5 – 4 hours
– Category: Intermediate hiker
– Requires: hillwalking boots, full set of rain gear

C Walk Siúlóid Eas Dearg / Waterfall Walk
Saturday 27th Aug 2:00 pm
– Meeting Point: Tigh Mhaille Carpark
– Route: walk from village to Aillintobar – bog track – Eas Dearg – back to village
– Grade: Beginner – 5km, 179m Ascent, 2 hours
– Category: family hike
– Recommended: Comfortable shoes and raingear

A Walk Siúlóid Mám Trasna / Maumtrasna
Sunday 28th August 9:00 am
– Meeting Point: Petersburg Outdoor Education Centre, Clonbur
– Route – Skeltia to Summit 682 metres – Knocklaur – Devilsmother – Aill Dúbh
– Grade: Strenuous – 18km, 1200m Ascent, 7 + hours
– Category: Experienced hiker
– Requires: hillwalking boots, full set of rain gear, rucksack, lunch and extra personal clothing

B Walk Siúlóid Loch Coolin / Lough Coolin Walk
Sunday 28th August 11:00 am
– Meeting Point: Petersburg OETC
– Route: Ballard – Eastern Cairn – Summit – descend to circuit of Lough Coolin – Woodland track – Ballyveane Carpark
– Grade: 8.5km, 320m Ascent, 3 – 3.5 hours
– Category: Moderate
– Requires: hillwalking boots, full set of rain gear

C Walk Siúlóid idir Cunga agus An Fhairche /Cong to Clonbur Walk via White Island
Sunday 28th August 12:30 pm
– Meeting Point: Crane House, Clonbur – Drop out by bus
– Route: Cong – Pigeon Hole – Ballykyne Castle – White Island – Car Park Clonbur
– Grade: Beginner 8km, 2 hours, Woodland walk
– Category: family hike
– Recommended: Comfortable shoes and raingear
