Clifden Traditional Music Festival 2023
Now in it’s 13th Year, the Clifden Traditional Music Festival will take place from Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th April 2023 in the town of Clifden in Connemara.
The festival hosts some of the very best of Irish music, song and dance along with concerts, sessions, workshops and outdoor entertainment. With young people being a very important element of the festival, it kickstarts on Thursday with a Junior Music Session, and with Clifden National School Marching Band entertaining on Friday, where the festival continues into the evening with the Official Opening Concert and a lively Pub Session Trail.
Saturday is a busy day with workshops in a variety of instruments, and lots of other events taking place such as a busking competition, a 5K Run/Walk, street entertainment, music at the town square as well as lively afternoon pub sessions, which all add to the festive atmosphere. Festival goers are then treated to an open air headline concert at Market Square, and you can always expect a lively performance. The festival then comes to a close on Sunday with a Traditional Music Mass and a Farewell Session. This is a weekend festival you won’t want to miss!
