Cleggan Fringe Festival - Visit Galway

Cleggan Fringe Festival

The Cleggan Fringe Festival takes place in the village of Cleggan in Connemara from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th September 2022.

The Connemara fishing village of Cleggan has a long connection with writers and artists, most notably the poet Richard Murphy and novelist John McGahern who both lived here. The actress Jeananne Crowley has also called Cleggan ‘home’ for many years. The Cleggan Fringe Festival celebrates this and more, with live music, storytelling and walking playing a big part of the festival.

Festival go-ers can find traditional music & dance, along with folklore & storytelling at the village’s four pubs; Oliver’s, Newman’s, Joyce’s and The Pier every day, along with a guided walk to explore the beautiful area of Cleggan and the Aughrus Peninsula. This is a wonderful little festival on the edge of the West Coast of Ireland which you definitely don’t want to miss out on!
