Ballygar Carnival
The 79th Annual Ballygar Carnival takes place over the August Bank Holiday in Galway from Thursday 3rd August to Tuesday 8th August 2023.
The carnival which was started in 1945, and soon to be in its 79th consecutive year, is regarded as being Ireland’s longest running family carnival. Carnival goers can join in the fun over the 6 days with music and dances being at the core of the carnival entertainment. What’s more, Murray’s Funfair, who have been bringing amusements to The Square at Ballygar for more than 50 years, make a welcome return, offering fun for people of all ages! Other carnival events include performances and demonstrations, walks and talks, arts and crafts, a traditional Fair Day and market, fancy dress, parade, a dog show and much more!
